Our Kopenhagen Classic Dutch-style bike comes with a traditionally lugged and brazed hand built frame, which ensures a relaxed and ultra posture-friendly cycling experience at all times – widely referred to as sit-up-and-beg style. This gives a high vantage point from which you can view the traffic, as well as making it easy to look behind you and soak in all of the sights and sounds of your surroundings as you cycle past

The frame comes in four sizes –  so you can choose what fits your height perfectly. We offer our Kopenhagen Classic commuter bike in four different sizes 45/50/55/60 cm and two different wheel options depending on your choice of frame size to ensure the correct proportions and optimal cycling experience. If you order the 18″/45 cm frame it comes with a set of 26″ wheels, and if you choose the larger frame models it automatically comes with proportionally correct 700C (28″) wheels. We are the only bicycle manufacturer that produces bicycles with this frame/wheel size flexibility. Continental bicycle manufacturers have a history of producing 28″/700C sized wheels for all their classic bicycles and normally their frame sizes start at 22″/56cm. British bicycle manufacturers have a history of producing 26″ bicycle wheels for all their models. We offer both.

An optional Velorbis own sprung leather saddle in a choice of two colours will gradually mould itself to your own shape giving the most perfect seat. Alternatively, a gel saddle in black or brown has a natural softness to give a great ride.

Top-quality Schwalbe tyres are 50 mm wide to give extra comfort and suspension over bumps and lumps in the road. They come in a choice of brown, cream or black. The tyres use kevlar anti-puncture technology and have all built-in reflectors on the tire walls.

The frame, fork, mudguards, chain guards and wheel rims can be coloured to your own specification from a choice of over 200 colours.

Are you looking for a large and spacious bicycle basket? A D-shaped basket from Velorbis that weighs no more than 2 kg and can withstand a cargo load of up to an incredible 40 kg. The range of Velorbis bicycle baskets are Velorbis’ own design and made of aluminium and has an exclusive wooden base. Even if it is loaded with a heavy load, your bike remains easy to balance. The secret to our easy-to-steer baskets is the fact that it is attached to the frame and not the handlebars, so it does not move when you turn the handlebars.

Kopenhagen Classic has lightweight alloy rims and stainless spokes and a luxurious leather mud flap in three optional leather colours that match the optional leather saddle and leather grips.

Traditional classic style commuter bicycles tend to be heavier than carbon bikes, racer bikes mountain bikes, etc. We have produced our traditionally lugged and brazed hand built frames from the highest quality German steel, rather than using the traditional and heavier steel frames you find on other steel bicycles today. These initiatives, therefore, reduce the overall weight of our bicycles to stunning 17,0 kgs (without extras) making them a perfect fit for navigating through traffic jams, lifting on and off trains or down steps, etc.

Superb Cycle Functionality

As you would expect, the Kopenhagen Classic Ladies Dutch-style bike is as practical as it is beautiful.

Enclosing the gears protects you and your bicycle from all types of weather, hence they involve much lower maintenance than the derailleur systems found on most bikes. Another advantage of internal gears is that they are very simple on the outside and come with a chain guard. This is a much cleaner option allowing you to ride in any clothing you choose rather than having to wear specialist cycle gear. Shimano Nexus gears are internal and available in 1, 3 and 7 speeds. The 7 gear bikes have an option of either pedal brakes or handlebar brakes.

Depending on what you generally need to carry, there are plenty of luggage options for the Kopenhagen Classic:

Velorbis’ own designed and Danish-made rear carrier. The rear carrier has an innovative bag hook on the side so that you can carry your Velorbis leather laptop bag on the side of your bicycle. A special anti-theft locking mechanism ensures that your leather bag is securely held in place when cycling.

A range of exclusive front carriers or crates (high, low)

Four different, spacious and iconic baskets so your shopping, briefcase or gym kit can be transported with ease.

Enclosing the chain in a semi or fully enclosed chain cover and equipping the Kopenhagen Classic with mudguards and leather mud flaps means that you arrive at your destination free from splashes, oil or dirt from the road.

Finally, the double kick-stand gives your Kopenhagen Classic extra stability when parked.

Bicycle Safety First

When cycling around the city, safety is paramount.  The Kopenhagen Classic Ladies has many features that keep you from harm’s way

The upright seating position gives you a great view of your surroundings and the other traffic on the road.

The bike comes with the option of either 1) a strong battery-powered LED retro lamp set or 2) internal dynamo powered front and back lights with LED and built-in parking lights, that ensure the light is on even when the bicycle is stopped at a red light.

A powerful bell is included and the Kopenhagen Classic comes with an Axa Defender integrated frame lock with keys.

Added Extras

We all have different needs and some people might want something extra added to their Kopenhagen Classic Ladies bike.  Here are just some of the possibilities.

Kopenhagen Classic is the perfect marriage of retro styling and contemporary functionality and can be seamlessly integrated into your everyday life. This bicycle can also be upgraded to an Elechic e-bike version with the Velorbis eDrive360. If you have a longer commute or live in a hillier environment, why not take the option of adding an electric motor to your bike? A Velorbis eDrive system can be added with a removable lithium battery with 360WH /10AH.

Make your bike a mobile business card by adding advertising logo plates on the rear carrier.

If you want a bit more speed, maybe look at the Arrow Sport Women’s bike. Instead of the upright handlebars, it has the forward-leaning sporty ones and the tyres are ultra-thin 28cm wide to give less traction.  The leather saddle option is the racer model that is specially designed for different riding positions.  To keep the bike light, a single kickstand and narrow tires are used.

Is the journey to work over a rather bumpy road or do you enjoy leisure biking on unpaved country tracks? If so, then maybe your best option is the Kopenhagen Balloon bike – similar in most aspects to the Kopenhagen Classic but with the distinctive 60 mm wide tyres that will make you float across even the most uneven roads.
